One Year A Levels

Achieving Success Together: An average class size of just eight and a maximum of 12 creates the perfect environment for students to participate, improve their confidence and fulfil their expectations.

One Year A Levels

Around 30 students enrol on our one year programme each year. It is suitable for those who have taken their A Levels before but wish to re-take to improve their grades to get onto competitive degree courses such as Medicine, Veterinary Science, Dentiustry, Pharmacy, Law and Engineering.

For the full one year programme students can choose from the full range of A Level subjects. For Sciences there are two strands which allow an intensive re-take from September to January or a full one year course.

It is possible that some students may wish to take up a new subject in a year as part of this programme and mature students may wish to take A Levels from scratch in a year.

Once again, the college's One Year A Level results have been fantastic. On average, the retake students who joined Abbey College are leaving us having increased their grades in each subject by 3 full grades.

  • EXCELLENT A LEVEL RESULTS

  • We are delighted with our A Level results this year and the most pleasing aspect is that, despite the concerns raised in the national press, almost all of our students have gained places in their chosen courses and universities.

    Our value-added for A Level students is 1.5 grades above their baseline attainment and for Retake A Levels the average grade increase is 3 grades.
